About

Bongo Football Club (Bongo FC) is a grassroots football academy dedicated to empowering underprivileged children and youth aged 10–18 years through sport. The academy uses football as a platform to promote physical fitness, personal development, education, and social inclusion, helping young people build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. In addition to football training, Bongo FC supports the holistic development of its players by creating opportunities for emotional, intellectual, and life skills growth, enabling them to recognise and maximise their full potential both on and off the field.

Location

The project is loacted in Msimbazi, Kariakoo, 12101 Dar es Salaam.  Msimbazi is one of the most densely populated and unplanned settlements in Dar es Salaam, with the majority of its residents being low-income earners. Located close to the city centre, the neighbourhood is surrounded by street vendors, wholesale markets, and retail shops, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere.
Like many densely populated urban areas around the world, Msimbazi requires extra caution when walking due to the high volume of pedestrians, vehicles, motorcycles, and commercial activities.
