About

There are two schools belonging to this hostproject:

Ban Krokluk School is a primary school with about 10 teachers and 100 students from kindergarten (2-6 years old) and pratomsuksa 1-6 (7-12 years old). VSA has sent volunteers to this School since 2015.

Ban Maab Grad School is also a primary school with about 9 teachers, 1 janitor and 60 students from kindergarten (2-6 years old), pratomsuksa 1-6 (7-12 years old). VSA has sent volunteers to this School since 2022.

Accommodation

Participants will live together in a house with open space and share one big room together. You can help to prepare Breakfast and Dinner in the family. Lunch will be at the school. Food will be provided for three meals a day. The accommodation is 1.3km from the Ban Krogluek School and 27km from the Maab Grad School.

Volunteer Tasks

As students learn English in their classes but only to read and write, they lack speaking skills. Volunteers are therefore key to encourage the students, teachers and local communities to speak English in daily life.

From Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30, the volunteer will be at the school, teaching for 3-4 hours a day and preparing lessons in the teacher’s room. In addition, the volunteer will participate in school activities such as Sports Day, Buddhist Day, and more.

Volunteer Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Be creative, like to teach using games, songs, storytelling, and dancing
• Show interest in intercultural communication
