About

Asociación Pro Ayuda a No Videntes (APANOVI) is a non-profit civil association founded, established, and run by blind people. Since 1979, its mission has been to improve the quality of life of people with visual impairments by providing comprehensive support through a wide range of programmes and services.

The organisation offers social and cultural activities, as well as sports and recreational activities such as football, artistic roller skating, fitness, judo, cycling, goalball, athletics, and adapted table football. APANOVI also provides social support and accessibility initiatives, organises awareness-raising talks, and holds public exhibitions.

The organisation welcomes people of all ages, both with and without disabilities, promoting inclusion, accessibility, and community participation.

Accommodation

The volunteers stay at the Subir al Sur Volunteer House.

Volunteer Tasks

• The volunteer will assist with the general maintenance of the facilities.
• The volunteer will help organise and maintain indoor and outdoor spaces.
• The volunteer will assist with fitness classes and various sports and recreational activities.
• The volunteer will support people with visual impairments in daily living activities.
• The volunteer will assist with digital communication activities.

Volunteer Requirements

• Open-mindedness and an interest in community engagement.
• An advanced level of Spanish.
• Initiative to propose activities and take the lead in different processes.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new ways of working.
• Interest in promoting the inclusion and integration of people with and without disabilities.
