In 1972 Mr. Martin Kwaku Kumah was first introduced to farming by his grandmother during his primary school education. After completing his studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, he decided to pursue agriculture alongside his duties at the university. He acquired a farm at Anwomaso and began with poultry, small livestock, and crop farming. In 1988, he was awared as Best Farmer in the Kumasi Metropolis. In recognition of this honour and his continued service to the community, the chief of Anwomaso enstooled him as the Nkosohene (development chief) of Anwomaso and bestowed on him the stool name Nana Kwaku Siaw in January 2008.
