About
The project takes place in kindergartens, primary schools, senior high schools and universities that offer lessons in Japanese, French, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic and German. The university is located in an urban area, while the participating high schools may be situated in either urban or rural areas.
Foreign-language learning is becoming increasingly popular and widespread in Indonesia. Schools and universities recognise the value of direct interaction with international volunteers. By communicating with volunteers from different countries, students can improve their language skills, gain confidence and develop a better understanding of other cultures.
Volunteers will support both formal and non-formal foreign-language education. Their activities may include:
-
Supporting language lessons in cooperation with local teachers;
-
Organising interactive learning activities for students;
-
Practising conversation and pronunciation;
-
Preparing games, group activities and creative exercises;
-
Introducing aspects of their own language and culture;
-
Presenting music, art, traditions and everyday life from their home country;
-
Encouraging students to communicate confidently with international visitors;
-
Supporting intercultural learning and mutual understanding.
The project aims to make language learning more practical, engaging and accessible while creating opportunities for students to develop confidence, openness and intercultural awareness. Through contact with international volunteers, students can experience foreign languages and cultures in a direct and personal way.
