About

The centre offers young Mozambicans a place learn or improve their artistic and creative skills. The project also sells the work of the artists working at Mozarte.

The centre offers courses in painting, batik, ceramic, African song and dance, sewing African clothes, in different languages, weaving, paper recycling, textiles, metal work, leather, traditional musical instruments

Location

The project is located in a very residential area of Maputo City. It is an area that offers many facilities, is very safe and easy to access.

Accommodation

Volunteers stay with local host families.

Volunteer Tasks

• Create and update the website of the centre
• Train a team of members in order to become web designers
• Create publicity and marketing material for the organisation

Volunteer Requirements

• Be dynamic, creative, trustworthy, and flexible
• Have computer skills, especially in information technology
• Have knowledge in website design
• Be able to adapt to the local conditions
• Speak English fluently
• Some knowledge of Portugues would be preferred
• Be prepared to work in a multicultural environment
• Have an artistic sense
• Any previous artistic experience will be helpful.
