About
Nepal is one of largely agricultural countries in South Asia. Around 66% of individuals in this country still engage in farming as their main income source.
Organic agriculture combines tradition, innovation, and science to benefit the shared environment
and to promote fair relationships and a decent quality of life as well as to reduce poverty. Organic Agriculture is a production system that sustains the health of both the ecosystem and the communities. It relies on ecological processes, biodiversity and adaptation to local conditions, rather than the use of chemicals/ pesticides with adverse effects.
During your volunteering at an organic farm you can celebrate agriculture related festivals, learn native farming techniques, Nepali food culture, plough the field using oxen, milk cows in a traditional way, learn about medicinal plants, eat tree ripened fruits picked by your own hand.
