Aims of the Project
Koivupirtti Foundation is a non-profit social organization providing housing services for the elderly in Tampere. The primary task of the foundation is to provide public services for the Pirkanmaa well-being region to support the well-being of elderly people.
Project’s Activities
We offer statutory services for the Pirkanmaa well-being region as well as communal housing. We have been operating in Tampere for over 60 years. We are a small operator with 50 resident places. In addition, we have a project funded by Stea called “Iloa Arkeen” (Joy in Everyday Life) with stop-over activities for elderly people who live on their own. This activity also involves volunteers. We also need volunteers for the housing services, and our social worker has already started working on this and acquiring additional training related to the matter.
Volunteer’s Tasks
Participation in activities organized for the residents, such as music sessions, baking, physical exercise, etc., which take place daily in the service home. Also, developing new ways of working and bringing new perspectives to the activities.
In “Iloa Arkeen” stop-over activities: planning and implementation of the activities together with both volunteers and staff. Supporting in organising, for example, group activities, events, and trips for the elderly.
