About

This type of project offers basic services for seamen from all around the world. The seamen´s clubs are supported by the church and with donations from companies and individual people. The projects offer different services, e.g. post service, money sending, bus service and a bar. For entertainment there is billiard, internet, a library and more.

Accommodation

You will have your own room on the same floor as other German and international volunteers.

Location

Located in German cities with a harbour (e.g. Hamburg, Bremen)

Volunteer Tasks

Volunteers will be driving, working at the bar and in the shop to exchange money and take care of the post service. You will be responsible for the shopping for the club, do cleaning chores and answer the phone. For the visitors the volunteers can act as advisors (when seamen have problems), social workers, hospital visitors or tourist guide.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers should have good knowledge of English and be a social person who likes to get to know new people. A driver´s licence is necessary.
