About
Erick Memorial Foundation for Education and Rehabilitation for Disabilities (EMFERD) was founded in 2011 with the mission of delivering quality care and support to individuals with disabilities living in rural communities. With extensive experience in healthcare, community-based rehabilitation, and physiotherapy services, EMFERD brings essential care directly to those in need, ensuring inclusive and accessible support for people with disabilities in underserved areas. The project activities include:
Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR): Offering physiotherapy support and promoting the medical and social inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
Inclusive Education for Girls: Improving rural girls, those from families affected by disabilities to access quality education in public schools and practical life skills training such as handicrafts and sustainable farming, to strengthen their self-reliance and future livelihood opportunities.
Elderly Women’s Empowerment Program: Empowering elderly women by promoting their social inclusion and advocating against all forms of discrimination. Participants engage in handicraft production and other income-generating activities that enhance their financial independence, well-being, and dignity.
Farming and Animal Keeping: The project operates crop farming and livestock keeping as sustainable income-generating activities. These initiatives contribute to food security, generate revenue to support project operations, and provide practical learning opportunities for beneficiaries.
