We take your privacy and the protection of your data seriously. In accordance with data protection regulations, we have taken technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal data.

We would therefore like to inform you of how we protect your privacy when you provide us with personal data. Apart from complying with the legal provisions on data protection, we regard it as our duty to handle your personal information in a responsible manner so that your privacy is protected at all times. It is important to us that you feel secure and comfortable when visiting our webpages.

 

General information

When using the internet, data is automatically transferred by your browser. This includes the name of your Internet service provider, an IP address, the website from which you visit us, the files you access from us, the data volume transferred and the date and duration of your visit. This data is stored and evaluated on our web server for statistical reasons and to guarantee system security. This information is not personally identifiable to you through ICYE e.V. As an individual user, you remain anonymous at all times.

 

Personal Information

Personal data is information that concerns you personally, such as your name, address, postal address and e-mail address. It does not comprise information that can be directly linked to your real identity (such as time spent on the website).

When you use www.icye.org, personal data is only collected when, for example, you provide us with this information while filling in a contact form or registering for our newsletter. Your data entered in the form will only be stored for the respective purpose for which you have entered it.

 

Friendly captcha

We use Friendly captcha when you sign up for our newsletter or use our contact form. This helps us to protect our website and services from spam and abuse. They declare that as Friendly Captcha (see Privacy Policy for End Users – Friendly Captcha):

  • All data will only be used to identify and deal with potential bots and risks as described above. The purpose of the processing is therefore to ensure the security and functionality of websites.
  • Friendly Captcha does not use the data to identify a natural person or for marketing purposes.
  • Friendly Captcha does not store personal data from the visitor. Data that may identify the visitor, such as IP addresses, are anonymized via one-way hashing.
  • Friendly Captcha does not use HTTP cookies and does not store any data in the browser’s persistent storage.

 

Sharing personal information with third parties

As a rule, we do not forward your data to third parties. All persons at ICYE e.V. are bound by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Only if required by law or court order to do so, will we forward your data to the respective authorities.

 

Right to information

On request, we will inform you as soon as possible in accordance with the applicable law whether and which personal data of yours is stored by us. In case incorrect information is saved, despite our efforts to ensure that the data is correct and up-to-date, we will correct it at your request.

 

Right to revoke

You can withdraw your consent for the use of your data at any time in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. If you contact us, we will promptly delete your personal data. Furthermore, under specific conditions, you have the right to ask for your personal data stored with us to be corrected, blocked or deleted.

 

Buttons linking to Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook and Youtube

If you click on any of those buttons, you will be redirected to those page. These pages collect personal data even if you are not registered or logged into them. We do not know if, how and by whom this data will be processed, and we are not responsible for this.

Please note, only by clicking on the button, you will be forwarded to the page of the corresponding provider.

 

Photographs and Videos

We have photographs and videos on our websites, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube sites, as well as in our newsletters, which are uploaded on www.icye.org. These are photographs and videos of the volunteers participating in our programmes, of host placements (and their beneficiaries or service users) or of staff, board members, co-workers, camp leaders, etc. of ICYE National Committees around the world participating in our local, regional or international trainings, ICYE General Assembly, etc. These photographs and videos help us to promote our programmes and create visibility for ICYE, international volunteering and non-formal learning. These photographs and videos are by no means for commercial purposes.

You have the right to request the deletion of photographs or videos in which you appear. If you contact us at icye@icye.org, we will promptly delete all photographs or videos in which you appear.

 

Embedded YouTube Videos

We have embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA is the provider of the corresponding plug-in. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. In doing so, YouTube will be informed of the pages you visit. When you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can allocate your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

Before opening youtube videos, your consent (marketing consent) will be asked, as Youtube does collect marketing and personal information.

When a YouTube video starts, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour.

If you deactivate the storage of cookies for the Google Ad programme, you will not have to deal with these cookies when viewing YouTube videos. YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. To prevent this, block the saving of cookies in your browser.

Use of cookies

Cookies” are used on our websites.

A cookie is a small piece of data that is placed on your hard drive and does no harm to it. Technical standards

We upgrade our software to match technological advances. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that data protection for the transfer of data on the internet cannot be wholly guaranteed. The possibility exists that other users of the internet have the technical ability to breach network security and control message traffic.

Our online offer comprises links to other websites. We have no influence on whether their providers comply with the data protection regulations. We also have no influence on the legality of the contents of these websites. We therefore reject any responsibility for the content of other websites.
