Who We Are

Since 1981, ICYE Honduras has been a vibrant bridge for intercultural connection and ethical international exchange. Based in Tegucigalpa and led by former exchange participants, we work closely with local NGOs, public institutions, and host families to offer immersive experiences lasting from weeks to a full year.

Our Programs

Our projects span a wide range of social and environmental themes, including human rights advocacy, environmental and wildlife conservation, youth empowerment, arts and culture, women’s leadership, indigenous and ethnic group support, healthcare, formal and non-formal education, disability inclusion, and care for the elderly and homeless.

Participants live with host families or on residential projects, engaging deeply with local communities. We offer both long-term (6-12 months) and short-term (2-16 weeks) exchange programmes linking intercultural learning with ethical voluntary service.

Our programmes blend language learning, hands-on experiences and guidance from our reflection camps to support personal growth and deepen intercultural understanding.
