About

The centre is assisting vulnerable boys in difficult situations with the aim to integrate them back into the society through education.

The project activities include: primary and secondary education; vocational training; sports, sewing, cooking and others.

Location

The project is located in one of the suburbs of Maputo, a residential area. Some services and facilities are provided in the area. The area is very safe, with easy access by local transport.

Accommodation

Volunteers will stay with local host families.

Volunteer Tasks

• Help with teaching English, computer and other vocational work.
• Volunteer might be asked to integrate into a working group who try to
  convince street children to move into the centre.
• Volunteer might also be asked to work with children who are already living at the centre.

Volunteer Requirements

• Have some computer skills in order to be able to train the children and some staff members if required;
• Be able to speak English fluently and have the capacity to teach some basic knowledge to the children and the staff if required;
• Have some knowledge of “child-psychology”;
• Be motivated and have the spirit of working in teams
• Be flexible and adaptable in relation to the offered conditions
• Be patient, enjoying the work with children;
• Be creative.
