About the Project
CEMVA (Centro Educativo Multifuncional Villa Armonía) supports the development of the Villa Armonía suburb in the north of Sucre, Bolivia, a community primarily composed of Quechua-speaking peasants who migrated from rural areas to the city in search of better job opportunities and quality of life. CEMVA aims to promote better education for children, youth, and adults in cooperation with the Bolivian education board, while also addressing healthcare needs and alleviating social injustice.
Since its establishment in 1994, CEMVA provides school support to children and teenagers, assisting with homework and engaging them in activities such as games, football, and other recreational pursuits after their homework is completed. The center emphasizes the importance of both healthcare and education. Additionally, a social worker regularly visits families in the area who are experiencing problems or have specific needs, offering assistance and support.
