About

Fundación Procrear functions as a “community house” dedicated to supporting different groups within the local population. Its work with children and teenagers focuses on promoting active citizenship, fostering a culture of peace, and preventing drug abuse. In addition, the foundation works with people experiencing homelessness and women involved in prostitution, aiming to reduce the harmful effects of substance use.

The foundation carries out several key activities:

  • Centro de Escucha: A safe and welcoming space where staff and community members come together to talk, participate in activities, and access basic support and resources.

  • Parche Costurero: A sewing initiative primarily for women from the surrounding community, offering skills development and opportunities to generate income. Volunteers can also learn sewing, build connections, and develop their own related projects.

  • Escuela: A daily space for children from the neighborhood, where they receive care and participate in educational and recreational activities. These are often organized in collaboration with students from Rosario University.

  • Language Classes (English or German): Volunteers have the opportunity to design and facilitate language classes for the community. These classes are optional, free of charge, and depend on the volunteer’s interest and initiative.

  • Additionally, the volunteer can take part in activities with people experiencing homelessness and individuals affected by substance use, under appropriate supervision

  • They should feel comfortable working with people in vulnerable and challenging situations, including individuals experiencing homelessness or displacement. This may involve engaging with people who have limited access to basic needs such as personal hygiene.
