About

Based on the concept of holistic education, at Yanhang Junior High School students are not only taught academic knowledge but also humanities. Living in a 21st century global village, the students can broaden their international horizons and have more opportunities to interact with foreigners. This allows them to  build their social competences, while becoming self-disciplined, caring, moral, skilled, responsible and committed international citizens.

Location

Yanhang Junior High School is located in Yongkang District, Tainan City.

The school is located in the city center with many attractions nearby, like the Sancun Night Market, the ruins of the air-raid shelter during the Japanese occupation period, the ruins of the Sankandian Shrine, the temple culture of Baoling Temple, and the Jianggongti Monument. There are many well-known restaurants around.

Accommodation

We offer a house with two single rooms. There are many fruit trees and vegetables planted around the house. It is a quiet place. The house is about 1 kilometer from the downtown area and about 800 meters from the school. Each volunteer will be assigned a bike.

Volunteer Tasks

• To assist teachers in the English conversation classes.
• To assist teachers in the bilingual classes.
• To assist the school in holding activities to let students know more about the world.
• To introduce your country and culture to the students.

Volunteer Requirements

• Being enthusiastic, passionate, and outgoing.
• Fluent English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills is a must.
• Like to get along with students.
