About the Project

The project aims to improve the quality of life of the people that live in at-risk areas and to promote sustainable development.

The project works with 2 kindergartens: “Violanta y Werner” and “Nuevo Miguelito”.
They take care of children between 1 to 6 years old, whose parents have low incomes or with complex social and family backgrounds. At the project, the educators and volunteers teach the children how to make handcrafts, coordinate group games, and teach good table manners, as well as music and English.

Accommodation

Volunteers can live in an apartment owned by Sembrar Esperanza with another 1-2 volunteers. The apartment is located in Pomasqui, about 30 minutes by bus from the north of Quito.

Volunteers con also live with a Host Family.

Volunteer Tasks

  • Preparing teaching material for the children’s English classes, alongside assisting with said class.
  • Playing with the children.
  • If the volunteer has musical experience, they can help with music classes.

Volunteer Requirements

The project needs an orderly, responsible, active, social and dynamic volunteer with a basic level of spanish.

Location

The project is located in the district of Santa Clara/Agua Clara close to the “Ofelia” bus station – North of the city.
