About

The Mae Hong Son College, under Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, was established to expand access to higher education in one of Thailand’s most remote provinces. The land for the school was originally used by 56 local residents of Ban Thung Kong Mu village, who voluntarily donated it for educational purposes. Due to limited funding, students and staff from the university supported the construction of the college.

Its primary aim is to improve access to quality higher education for youth in Mae Hong Son province and to support community development through education and applied research. Regular activities include academic teaching, student development programs, and community engagement initiatives.

Location

The college is located in Pang Mu Subdistrict, Mueang District, Mae Hong Son, on a 109-rai (approximately 43 acres) plot of land.

Accommodation

Volunteers will be accommodated in the university dormitory located on campus. The dormitory provides basic facilities, including a private or shared room, bathroom, and access to common areas. The location is within walking distance of the classrooms and main buildings, making it convenient for volunteers to commute to their daily activities. Meals are available at the university cafeteria or local restaurants nearby, with assistance provided to help volunteers settle in and access local services.

Child Protection

Please note that you will be required to sign ICYE’s policy Care to Engage on Safeguarding Children.
