Anuban Pong School is located in northern Thailand near border with Laos. It is a public primary school with 374 students from Kindergarten to primary level (3-12 years old).

Accommodation

Volunteers will be staying at the teacher’s house with 2 volunteers per room with a shared bathroom. There is a common area and a kitchen. Lunch will be provided at the school. Volunteers will cook breakfast and dinner using local Thai ingredients.

Please note that you will be required to sign ICYE’s policy Care to Engage on Safeguarding Children.

Volunteer Tasks

Volunteers will work as English teacher assistants, preparing lessons or the English Camp, supporting the teachers at the school, using non-formal education tools for creative teaching.

In addition volunteer can create their own national club, for example, German club or Korean club to exchange their language and culture with the students.

• Fluent in English
• Be creative, like to teach using games, songs, storytelling, and dancing
• Show interest in intercultural communication
