About
The project offers insight into and participation in a public primary and secondary school for children and young people aged 4 to 16 years. The aim is to support pupils in their educational and social development while assisting teachers and school staff in daily school life. The volunteer gains experience in different school levels, from kindergarten to upper secondary. Activities include classroom assistance, supporting individual pupils during lessons, accompanying school trips and special events, assisting in the lunch programme and childcare services, and contributing to youth work activities in the municipality. Administrative and project-related support (including basic IT tasks) may also be part of the experience.

Volunteer tasks
The volunteer supports teachers and staff in daily school routines. Tasks include assisting in kindergarten and primary classes, supporting individual pupils during lessons, accompanying school trips and camps, help during special events, providing possible administrative or IT-related support, and assisting in the lunch programme and municipal youth work activities.
Volunteer requirements
The volunteer must be between 25 -30 years old and should enjoy working with children and young people in an educational setting. They should be open-minded, cheerful, patient and helpful. Educational training or previous experience with children or youth is an advantage but not required. Basic IT skills are considered an asset.
Location
Schule Uznach is a public school covering all levels from kindergarten to upper secondary education with approximately 750 pupils and around 150 staff members (including about 120 teachers). The school also includes a music school, a lunch and childcare programme, and municipal youth work services. Uznach is located in the Canton of St. Gallen in eastern Switzerland.
