Brief description and main aims
The Oakom Robotics Academy was founded in 2018 by Rev Kofi OwusuAnsah and his wife in 2018. During their stay in Canada, the couple observed that the Canadian educational system focused on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and STEM subjects. Impressed by that idea they decided to include that in the school. The school wishes to inspire and build the passion for science technology among young Ghanaians hence the introduction of robotics engineering. The school has a population of about 700 pupils and admits pupils who are between the ages of 2 -15 into their creche, primary and junior high.
The Aim of the project is to:
o Develop basic mental abilities and skills of pupils.
o Instilling virtues of moral courage and social discipline in the Pupils
o impart knowledge and wisdom.
o Unlock creativity and build the passion for science and technology

Volunteer tasks
o Volunteers will be assigned to a particular class or teacher based on
their interest or profession.
o They will be mostly assisting in teaching, marking class and
homework, ensuring order in the class, participating in class activities

Volunteer requirements / Skills
The school would like to work with:
o both male and female volunteers
o He/she should be between the ages of 18 and 28.
o must be fluent in English language. A volunteer who can also speak
French is a plus.
o He/she should be interested and passionate about working with kids.
