Brief description and main aims

The foundation is a non-profit entity aimed at children and young people with special needs. Through its actions, it supports the inclusion of a population with a high level of vulnerability. It promotes access to education and health and develops actions to sensitize society to the situation of people with mental disabilities in Bolivia. Its therapeutic and educational center provides comprehensive care through a team of highly trained professionals in the area of health and disability.

The mission is: to improve the living conditions of people with special abilities (mental deficiency, Down syndrome, Autism...) through comprehensive and professional care that allows their inclusion in education, work, social and artistic.

Main Activities

A group of children and teenagers participate to a daily educative program of pedagogic and artistic workshop as: cooking, music therapy, yoga, meditation, handicraft, bakers... with the aim to improve their abilities and autonomy.

Volunteer tasks

To give practical, emotional and educative support in daily workshop, with the professional responsible of group, the volunteer should take part in each activity every morning, from Monday to Friday.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

This project needs a volunteer with special sensibility for children and affinity with person with special needs. The volunteer should be able to take initiative and participate in each activity in the group. Good understanding or basic level to speak Spanish is required.

Location

The project is located in Sucre.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
