Brief description and main aims

Asilo Caritas is a nursing home that takes care of old people who are homeless, don't have enough economic resources to pay for a private asylum or have been abandoned by their families. The age of the elders is between 60 to 90 years old.

Main Activities

This project takes care of around 70 elders 24/7. Elders receive all the care they need for their age: food, accommodation and a variety of recreational activities.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer's tasks include:

  • Taking care of elders (help to bring them food etc.)
  • Accompanying the elders
  • Talking and playing with them
  • Organizing dynamic games or activities
 

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer need to have the interest, patience and willingness to work with adults and elders.

Location

The project is located near downtown of Puebla. The neighborhood is surrounded by several schools and therefore, it is a very busy area during the day.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
