Fundación CARES aims to initiate and strengthen a process of accompaniment and integral formation for children. The work to improve the childrens' social, emotional, cognitive, cultural and sportive abilities as well as self-reflectiveness and orientation regarding the construction of their life projects.
The project's main activities are:
Prevention and social inclusion
Educational activities (e.g. English and technology classes)
Productive activities like cooking, handicrafts
Artistic and cultural activities like dancing, arts, music, martial arts
Psychological and pedagogical accompaniment
Community development: events, workshops, and a community newspaper
The volunteer's tasks include:
Provide support in the educational processes
Carry out community work
Provide administrative support
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer should:
have strong leadership and team skills
be open minded
The project is located in Bogota, Cundinamarca.
Bogotá is Colombia’s sprawling capital and the cultural, economic, industrial, artistic and sportive centre of the country. With its almost 10 million inhabitants it lies high up in the Andes at 2600m above sea level, making it one of the highest cities worldwide and the most populated in Colombia. Bogotá has a great number of universities and libraries and has a broad cultural offer.
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
The volunteer will live with a host family outside the project.
