Brief description and main aims

The aim of the project is to help women who have escaped from vulnerable situations get back on their feet by finding community, a sense of belonging and starting their own businesses

Cultural Exposure

Ibarra is a city located in the province of Imbabura, it has a diverse population with mostly mixed race people but also afro Ecuadorian communities and indigenous communities nearby. It is located 3 hours from Quito

Main Activities

The project has many activities and consists of a permanent staff of about 20-30 people. They focus on offering workshops by and for women, visiting the nearby communities and helping the people who are in need, and giving small talks about human rights.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer can participate in a variety of tasks such as: 
Supporting the staff in any way
Helping to visit the nearby communities and teach about the importance of women’s rights 
Planning and helping with the preparation of the workshops
Helping with social media and communication for the organization 

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteers should be open minded, creative, empathetic individuals who want to help and are also proactive as there are many activities to partake in.
