HER INITIATIVE (TZA-50)

Brief description and main aims
Her Initiative is a young women-led non-profit organization
that works to reframes the value of girls and shapes the
new norms that break the cycle of poverty and create
financial resilience among adolescent girls and young
women in Tanzania in order to achieve gender equality
and inclusive economic growth.
The project offers online and local mentorship program for
in and out of the school girls with entrepreneurship skills
both theoretically and practically, income and capital
generation process and financial literacy.

Content creation on blog story, social media and
website
Resource mobilization in supporting with Program
Manager
Program monitoring and evaluation
Facilitating entrepreneurship session,
Supporting finance and administration team
Participating in school outreach program

Volunteer requirements / Skills
This project is suitable to professionals in social
work, sociology, psychology, business,
communication to content creation, proposal and
report writing
Are at least 18 years of age at the time of arrival.
Have an advanced knowledge of spoken and
written English.
Interested in human rights i.e. gender equality,
financial inclusion, and women rights

Location
HER Initiative is found in Dar es Salaam at Mikocheni B. It
approximately 4o minutes from the international airport
and 500 5 minutes by feet to the Beach. The distance
from the project to the city centre is approximated to 30
minutes
