Brief description and main aims

The Instituto Cultural Boliviano-Aleman (Bolivian-German cultural institute) is a nonprofit cultural institution dedicated originally to the promotion of the German language with the official recognition by the Goethe-Institute, Munich. In its daily work nowadays it puts emphasis on educational objectives (with language courses in German –DaF-, Spanish, Quechua…), the cultural interchange, and on ecological activities in order to strengthen promote and strengthen the mutual understanding and friendship between the Bolivian and German people, in particular, and between people, of different origins and cultures in general.

Main Activities

The voluntary work to fulfill this is in the cultural area, where he/she will be able to collaborate in the organization and development of different activities in the areas of: cinema, theatre, musical performances, exhibitions, educational and ecological workshops and other cultural activities that the institute organizes. In the library: To stimulate children, teens, and adults to the “biblioteca/mediateca” to visits and the reading. The exchange between Bolivians and foreigners who want to improve the learning of a language; The volunteer must possess a wide predisposition of collaborating in the institute.

Volunteer tasks

To collaborate in the cultural area, there is much needed in the organization and development of different activities: cinema, theatre, musical performance, exhibitions, educational and ecological workshops, and others. To invite children, teens and adults to the library and use of computers, stimulating them by means of activities and reading. To organize activities of exchange between Bolivians and foreigners who want to improve the learning of a language.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer must have the quality of relating to children, teens and adults. Of having a basic knowledge in art, culture, etc. To be able to be an open–minded person and be prepared to take initiate of activities. It would be preferable that the volunteer has an intermediate level of Spanish.
