Brief description and main aims

• Aims of the project: -to allow the students to become enriched, while becoming self-disciplined, caring, skilled and well-balanced young people. Yongkang District, Tainan 14 -students are not only taught professional knowledge but also international perspectives based on the concept of well-rounded education.
• Regular activities: -to share and teach the elementary school students. -to assist teachers to hold activities to know more about the world. -to introduce the volunteer’s country and the culture of it.
• The number of students: 720in total, at the age of 7-12.
• Geographical location: Liantan is located in the center area of Tainan City.

Cultural Exposure

Liantan is a very new community and it is in Tainan Science Park. The community is quite new , safe and beautiful. The residents here are young and most of them work in the science park. English shouldn’t be a problem in the community. There are also a supermarket, convenience stores , a Starbucks, and some nice restaurants nearby, which are convenient for volunteers to purchase daily necessities.

Volunteer tasks

• to interact with students in teachers’ classes and share cultural difference with students.
• to assist Liantan to hold activities to know more about the world.
• to introduce the volunteer’s country and the culture of it.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

• Being enthusiastic, passionate, and outgoing.
• English listening, speaking, reading and writing ability is a must.
• Share the culture of the volunteer’s country and help develop the English speaking environment on campus by involving him/herself in the school life

Location

Our school is located in Tainan Science Park, Shanhua District. The community is quite new and safe. The residents here are young and most of them work in the science park. English shouldn’t be a problem in the community.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

We will arrange volunteers to board in students’ homes, so that they can experience the exotic culture and the local Taiwanese life.
