Brief description and main aims

CTU-Argao envisons to be a premiere, multidisciplinary technological university. True to its mandate of empowering communities, the Extension Services of CTU-Argao Campus aims to to provide the small marginalized communities of Cebu the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills for sustained productivity, profitability and well-being, The Hablon or the hand- woven textile considered now as a vanishing craft is one of the major community extension program of the university in helping address its sustainability and empower the weaving community.

Main Activities

 Community/research extension services specifically to mainstream the handloom weaving industry in which Argao is known for

Promote cultural and environmental conservation and development

Technology enhancement training, marketing,management and product development toward a productive livelihood program for communities

Teaching foreign language ,organizing/coordinating club activities

Extra-curricular activities like music, arts and crafts, etc.

(Note: With the new set up due to pandemic, expect to be exposed in teaching and organizing other activities in an online environment) 

Volunteer tasks

Assist in teaching academic/non-academic subjects including foreign language lessons

Assist capacity building workshops, marketing and product development of the University Hablon/hand-woven textile industry

Organize clubs: sports, music and arts, community organizing and technical-vocational assistance

Support the development of website, social media, etc.
