The RenDe junior high school founded in 1968, it was established after the president Jiang Kai Shek extended the state education for nine years in 1956. This was the first and the oldest junior high school in RenDe District.
The project aims to develop their students into well-rounded individuals, and global citizens: mentally tough, physically strong, and emotionally stable, ready to excel in the modern world.
Conversation tutoring lessons with 4-5 students at a time (~10h / week)
"tea time” English lessons with school teachers (~4h / week)
Assisting in other teachers’ lessons (or co-teaching)
Other activities aiming to learn about other cultures and to practice English
The project provides formal education programs for teenagers aged 12-15.
To provide teachers with extra assistance as they teach vocabulary, pronunciation and conversation.
To support students as they practice speaking English, both in class or one-on-one lessons.
To help organize activities or design materials to promote English learning.
To help review the school's English materials for accuracy.
To share cultural diversities with students and teachers.
Volunteer requirements / Skills
Female native speaker with fluency in English (even better if experiences in teaching English).
With passion, patience and responsability.
A volunteer who is able to fit in with the group and willing to interact with peoples, specially teenagers.
The RenDe junior high school is situated in RenDe Dist., has around 76,000 inhabitants.
From the project to the nearest train station (BaoAn Station) is 45 minutes by walking. From BaoAn train station to the nearest city, Tainan City train station will take around 10 minutes.
From Tainan city to Kaohsiung city is around 45km and 317km to Taipei City. The public transportation from Tainan city to Kaohsiung or Taipei city connection are good, you can easily take a bus, train or high speed rail to any city in Taiwan.
