Brief description and main aims

Fundación “Asociación Mi Rancho Proyecto Los 2 Patitos” aims to create a change in three different areas:

  1. Initial education: to contribute and develop in children capacities that will let them acquire an integral development.
  2. Nutrition and health: to develop byo-psychosocial wellbeing in children.
  3. Protection: to contribute in improving the quality of relationship with their progenitors and their children.
The house of Girls and Boys “Los 2 Patitos”  is divided into two blocks according the ages:
  1. kindergarten -  covers the age range of 6 months to 5 years old
  2. assisted study classrom - covers the age range of 6 years old to 10 years old. It covers the necessities of girls and boys who go to the school, but need help because of learning needs or because of the family characteristics.

Main Activities

Methodological strategies: the methodological strategies contemplate the kid globally and every educative intervention is carried out being the child the protagonist of their cultural process. The strategies are developed taking into account both the child and the family and the environment that surrounds them. The methodological principles of L2P are based in:
  • Integral Education: we understand that each and every one of the activities is educational, they contribute to the learning, in other words; we do not educate in a determined moment, but in all the activities we do.
  • Significant learning: we understand it as the effective incorporation of the mental structure of the new contents that become part of the comprehensive memory of the children. This process demands a relevant, interesting, clear, functional and potentially significant content.
  • Personalization: children are the protagonists; we take into account the rhythm of learning and development of every infant, so we can adapt the resources and the development of each child to the didactic resources in the different teaching/learning situations.
  • Team Work: the L2P team is composed by every person that works in the house, independently of their responsibility. Meetings are essential to unify criteria, to plan and to debate as a team about the self-practice and about those aspects that will enable an offer of coherent, quality educational services that are clearly identified with the center.
