The project is a soup kitchen that seeks to support the community through the provision of food and educational classes.
Some of the project's main activities are:
Having a positive presentation of the foundation within the community
Developing of individual projects and activities within the program
Regular training sessions regarding “Social Responsibility”
Offering a soup kitchen service for the beneficiaries
Promoting the English language in the community through classes
The volunteer is expected to:
Search the internet for events the organisation could participate in
Organize an English language club for the children, teenagers and adults
Help with the Project “Red de Jóvenes Universitarios del Vichada” (network of university students)
Help plan and execute the first youth camp guided by the International volunteers
Contribute to the learning process (the classes)
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer should:
be able to work collaboratively in a group
be able to live in a hot climate
have an affectionate and mature disposition
have a high English level (for the classes)

Puerto Carreño is a beautiful place located on the Venezuelan border, with a totally different environment and culture to Bogotá. Be ready to get to know about a little-known area of Colombia, with indigenous communities and beautiful scenery. The climate is hot and dry, with a heavy rain season from April through October. The average temperature is 28 °C. Economic activities are based on agriculture, fishing, and mining. It is only possible to get to and from Bogota via plane.
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
The volunteer will live either in the project or with a family. It is therefore important to be flexible and patient. If living in the project, one needs to understand this comes with certain rules and responsibilities.
