Brief description and main aims

Kindergruppe- Jardin Infantil Quijote aims to enhance a mutual learning process in a bilingual and multicultural group by participating in a variety of tasks.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer will take part in the day-to-day routine of our nursery school, cooperating with our teachers. The main task is to support the teachers in their activities, for example receiving the children in the mornings, instructing them in diverse situations, telling them stories, helping them doing handicrafts, helping out during lunchtime, helping to clean tables after lunch, accompanying them to the playground or on excursions etc.The volunteer will also participate in team sessions and parents meetings.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should:

actively participate and get involved with the children and our teachers, but also with the parents, as the nursery school is administered by the parents.
support our teachers by finding her/his place in our team and enriching it with her/his own personal skills.
be active, open-minded and ready to adapt to a community in a multicultural environment.

Location

The project is located in Vienna.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family in a single room. The bathroom, kitchen and living room are shared with the host parents and other host students. Breakfast and dinner will be prepared by the family.

The house is situated in a quiet street with green surroundings (garden; possibly for cycling etc.) and close to public transport.
