Brief description and main aims

Educating the youth and helping socially disadvantaged people in the world through intercultural exchange programs.

Main Activities

Managing the international and Colombian volunteers as well as the local projects and families.

Volunteer tasks

  • Support in university fairs
  • Help with the management of the office duties
  • Develop and organize activities for Colombian and international volunteers to promote a process of integration and intercultural learning
  • Help with the preparation of and assistance in camps
  • Present ICYE to interested Colombian young people
  • Introduce ‘incomings’ (new volunteers in Colombia), and help them to fulfil their and the project’s expectations
  • Support the preparation process of the ‘outgoings’ (Colombian volunteers going abroad)
  • Search for new projects

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • Basic office tools skills
  • Spanish knowledge needed
  • Soft skills
  • Preferably some experience with other cultures, voluntary work, camp planning, etc.
  • Preferably a female

Location

This project is located in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia and the department of Cundinamarca. Bogotá is the most populous city of the nation, with an estimated 7,500,000 inhabitants. It is the biggest city in Colombia, the third highest in the world above sea level and known for its high number of universities, libraries and particularly for its cultural events.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
