Brief description and main aims
|
Main ActivitiesThe hospice provides support, palliative care, comfort and pain management. For children with life threatening illnesses, the hospice offers comfortable, caring and loving environment. The hospice also provides a day nursery and primary school that caters for the needs of boys and girls with varieties of special needs from the ages of 3-10 years. |
Volunteer tasksThe role of the volunteer will be to assist, support and collaborate with the teachers, nurses in the class and home. The volunteer can however be allowed to take a class if we think she can cope, or she already has teaching experience. The volunteer will be doing a lot of creative activities with the children (drawing, painting, and music).

Volunteer requirements / Skills- Mature female volunteer between the ages of 19-25 - Ability to organize interesting activities for children with special needs, nurse and care for them - The home appreciates the special effort and contributions from volunteers both local and international to the development of the hospice - Volunteers that have trained as health worker or have experince in working with diabled children or children with special needs will be an advantage |
LocationThe project is located in Lagos state. |
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)The volunteer will either stay with a host family or live within the project. |
