Brief description and main aims

We give basic education for young children between the ages of 3-18 years old,  training of pupils from nusery to primary school level in order to contribute to the development of qualitative primary education in the state of Lagos.

The school provides a day and boarding facility for over 500 students that reside in the community at an affordable price. There is also a school of basic studies for out of school young ones or the students awaiting admission into the university.

Main Activities

  • We offer courses in basic education. Learning of arts and sciences, humanities and commercial studies.
  • Summer school courses are available with different themes.
  • Extra-curricular activities like girls guide, boys scout, Red Cross are available during the week for students.
  • The school provides day and boarding facilities for over 500 students at an affordable price. There is also a school of basic studies for young students awaiting admission into the university.

Volunteer tasks

  • No specific skill required
  • Volunteer will work as an assistant teacher to the class teacher and will help students with their class work and creative lesson
  • Volunteer will work from 8.00am -3.00pm. there will be 1 hour break. Saturdays and Sundays are free

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • Volunteers with good communication skills (English knowledge) will be prefered
  • Ready to work with children
  • Good team sprit
  • Ability to teach children in English/French and art work
  • Open minded and creative

Volunteer with creative abilities will be highly considered.

Location

The school is located in the serene part of Ikorodu Lagos state. Ikorodu is a city in north-east Lagos State, Nigeria. It is located along the Lagos Lagoon and shares a boundary with Ogun State.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Volunteer will live in the boarding house hostel. A single room will be provided for the volunteer. The volunteer will have to share the bathroom, toilet and common areas with the students.

Breakfast, Lunch and dinner will be provided.
