Brief description and main aimsThe Swiss Youth Hostels Association aims to provide a possibility for people from all over the world to get in touch with each other. The association focuses on social and ecological tourism with high quality for young people and families with lower budgets. |
Main ActivitiesThe Swiss Youth Hostel Association provides accommodation, serves breakfast, as well as other meals upon request by the guests in all regions of Switzerland for a fair price. |

Volunteer requirements / SkillsThe volunteer has to be interested in meeting people from all over the world, open-minded and not shy to talk to people even if there is a language barrier, enjoy doing various tasks and learn new things as well as be willing to learn German. |
LocationCity of Lucerne (other locations like Bern, Basel, Interlaken if negiotated with Central Administration of the Association of Swiss Youth Hostels). There are youth hostels in all bigger cities as well as in touristic mountain areas. |
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)This is a residential project. |
More InformationNumber of volunteers in project: 1-2 Working in the youth hostel gives the volunteer the possibility to stay 3-4 nights for free in other Swiss youth hostels.
