Brief description and main aims
“Corporación Tanai Jawa” is a non-profit organization and its aim is to help the Colombian population in vulnerable condition, developing and implementing projects and programs of sustainable human development.

Main Activities
Soup kitchen: Places where Tanai Jawa offers free food. They also work in activities teaching social, cultural, educational and political rights. Pedagogical Centres: These are units giving specialised attention to young people between 6 and 18 years.They treat people with cognitive disorder, autism, etc. They offer specialized actions in therapeutic and pedagogic areas to children and teenagers. Community Development Centres: CDC Tanai Jawa administrates these CDCs in Lourdes. They amin to traini the participants to be able to integrate into social, cultural, sport, recreational and productive processes.

Volunteer tasks
Help in workshops. Help the teachers in their classes. Develop sport activities in basketball, football, etc. Give information about his/her own culture. Take part in visits to events in town or near towns. Help the person in charge to contact local authorities. Give English classes. Give swimming classes. Develop new workshops for example: photography.

Volunteer requirements / Skills
Open minded and creative to adapt successfully to the different work environments and develop effective lessons and workshops. Necessary that the volunteers have skills in a special field, preferably in an artistic one, like photography, painting, dance, music or are able to teach a language.

Location
The volunteers will be working in Bogotá, capital of Colombia with a population of 9 million of people approximately. They will be working in the poor areas around the city.

Duration
Minimum time of stay: 1 month (4 weeks). Maximum: 16 weeks

Hosting Situation (Board & Lodging)
Host family outside the project that will bring food and board.
