Global Concerns India is non-profit community based organization, committed to strategically promoting transformative leadership with values. In striving to fulfill this mission - GCI addresses issues pertaining to human rights, especially of women and children, alleviating poverty by empowering the community to take responsibility towards building better futures by challenging present injustice, promoting the participation of women and children to understand their rights in addressing social, environmental and civic issues.

A community collective of women is the ANANYA Mahila Okkutta that basically intervenes and addresses both individual and community issues of domestic violence, civic problems and issues of governance.

Enabling the community to be their own first line of defense is the primary mission in every program activity undertaken. Responding to calls from children and women in distress to making it possible to access justice forms part of the everyday activities.

GCI essentially carries out this mission, by mobilizing community collectives at the grassroots level to challenge exploitation, violence, injustice and take initiatives to conserve environment beginning with homes and schools, empowering children and women as key change agents, and forging effective partnerships with NGOs and government.

- The volunteers will get hands on experiences of interacting with marginalized families, especially women and children to get an understanding of how corruption manifests in almost all spheres of life and how the marginalized have begun to accept this as an additional part of living or trying to access government subsidies.
- Volunteers can be part of the various discussions and deliberations of how macro policies and decisions affect people at the micro levels and how they bear the brunt of lopsided policy decisions that their own politicians make and how people are understanding these things because of the advanced technology and progressive legislations to challenge and oppose such injustices and partisan decisions.

The volunteers are expected to understand and share her/his views on the various issues, so that
we get a different perspective. They are encouraged to work out a plan of action depending upon their interests and aptitudes that they would like to implement along with us. They are encouraged to research on subjects they are keen in and is of assistance to our objectives so as to add to policy discussions and advocacy. They can be part of any of the areas we work in and assist in any way they find most appropriate to their area of interest and commitment.
