Brief description and main aims

Nature-based Tourism is a key focus of the park all year, it includes: camping, hikes, and overnight camps in designated mountain regions with camp facilitators. We have outreach programs for youth and the wider public and Biodiversity Conservation is a focus throughout the year.

Location

An open access, urban national park set within the metropolitan area of Cape Town which has a population of about 4 million people.

Duration

Minimum: 12 weeks

Maxiumum: 16 weeks

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Volunteer will have their own room but will share facilities such as kitchen, living area and ablution facilities with other volunteers and/or students. The accommodation is free and is situated within Park and in close proximity to other staff/student housing. The accommodation makes use of solar energy for lighting and gas for heating/cooking.
