The foundation MINGAI has two main objectives: medical or public health issues and environmental education.
The projects main activities include:
First aid courses, medical brigades and workshops in remote areas, education for children
Transition of traditional farming (using lots of agrochemicals and polluting water resources)
Selling of organic products to maintain the reserve intact and protected from hunters
The volunteers support the worker on his daily duties on the farm (feed the animals, weeding), meanwhile getting explained the importance of compost,organic insecticides and fertilizer. We need to finish constructing rainwater collecting system, filters, implement an irrigation system, build a compost toilet and improve the volunteer house.
For the conservation project we collect seeds from the forest to make a plant nursery for reforestation and construct and maintain trails and wildlife observation platforms.
Approximate schedule: 7-8am breakfast, Field work,1pm lunch and siesta,4-5pm feeding animals,late afternoon / evening playful teaching activities.
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer should:
be aged between 18 -100 years old.
have a strong love for nature/ willingness to work outside
Special skills like educators, carpenters, metalworkers, farmers are appreciated.
Basic Spanish knowledge is an advantage.

The farm is part of the parish of Pactowith approximately 5000 inhabitants living in small family-run farms dedicated mainly to agriculture.Production of coffee has been promoted in recent years.

On the weekends the volunteer can make loads of trips to the surrounding (for example hot springs of Nangulvi, Canopy in Tucanopy)
