Brief description and main aims

Mangwoo Youth Center was established in 2006 and it runs by Seoul YMCA, entrusted from Seoul Metropolitan Government.
It is a child-youth education center which is available for  most of Jungnang's community.

The Youth center teaches youth with the value of life and peace and works with local community.

Main Activities

  • Various Youth Activity Programs
  • Sports programs for the community
  • Kids sports club

Volunteer tasks

Main Tasks:

  • Work as an assistant teacher of Mangwoo kids sports club.
  • Help with various activities and classes.
  • The volunteer may take care of kids when the kids are using a shuttle bus.
  • Child care work could also be involved, such as helping kids change their clothes for special activities, feeding them, etc

Other Tasks

  • Participate in various youth activity programs as an assistant teacher.

Working hours: 9:40am-5:00pm (Monday thorugh Friday)
 

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • The volunteer should be friendly, out-going, and interested in working with children.
  • The volunteer should be able to communicate and interact with other staff member
  • The volunteer should be good at English and willing to learn Korean quickly.
  • The volunteer needs to be willing to perform various tasks.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The Volunteer will live in the YMCA Hotel (with a roommate).
