Associação Legato is an organization aimed at inclusion of people through art. This association was established on August 2008 in order to create opportunities for the community. The Legato Association creates projects aimed at inclusion of persons with disabilities through music , dance and theatre . It consists of children, youth and adults who are or are not included in canoense community , Porto Alegre and the Metropolitan Region.
The association's president, Renata Flores da Silva, who has a degree in music from UFRGS and specialist in Relational Psychomotricity, has served as a major supporter of the inclusion of People throuhgh art since 2002.
Workshops and Training to prepare the kids for the labor market (from 16 years old). Morning - Preparation to the work for 20 kids with low disabilities. Afternoon – activities for 15 kids with medium disabilities.
Adaption and rehabilitaion through Art (kids from 2 years of age)
Afternoon- workshops for about 25 kids with different disabilities and difficulties in school learning; arts group (performances and shows with handicapped kids and monitors and teachers to promote the integration) and art workshops; educational service with specialists, activities to reinforce the health and environmental awareness and the integration into the local community groups of parents (to share experiences and to learn a job)
Activities the volunteer could do: teach English lessons, celebrate culture, activities that promote socialization, workshops (music, theatre, dance, acrobacy), stimulation for the achievement of autonomy
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer must have a commitment to education of disadvantaged children and will need patience, maturity and responsibility to realize the work with these special children.
