Verdiazul (CRC-32)

Brief description and main aims

Located on Junquillal Beach on Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast, Verdiazul aims to protect the Leatherback, Green, and Olive Ridley turtle populations.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer will help  in a variety of different areas including:
  • helping with the maintenance of the project
  • keeping the beach clean and carrying out night patrols
  • ensuring that the turtle hatchlings reach the sea
The volunteer will be involved in educational activities within the local community and with tourists who visit the beach.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should:
  • be at least 20 years old
  • be dedicated to the protection of animals and the eniroment
  • be in good physical condition 
  • enjoy working outdoors
  • be able to work irregular hours (including nights)

Location

The project is located in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live at the project.
