Brief description and main aims

CENAQ is an organization that works with the Quechua communities promoting intracultural, intercultural and multilingual education, with the aim to build a society with its own identity and social justice.

Main Activities

CENAQ  strengthens the different levels of the community's social participation through educational activities within the Quechua nation and in the territories where the Quechua families are settled within the national territory.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer's tasks include:
  • Working with social organizations
  • Helping with administrative tasks (project writing, design, etc)
  • Translating from Spanish to English
  • Traveling to the countryside to visit Quechua communities
  • Visiting rural schools to deliver school material for the children.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should:

  • be enthusiastic
  • enjoy working in the educational area
  • like traveling to the countryside to meet with the communities
  •  be intrested in learning about the Quechuas and their culture

Good level of Spanish is required.

Quechua communities of Sucre,
Sucre, Bolivia.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
