Brief description and main aims

The project aims to:

  • Provide a good and safe environment for the girls who come from abusive and difficult backgrounds
  • Cover basic needs, such as food, shelter, education, etc.
  • Teach them human and Catholic values
  • Integrate them into society

Main Activities

Casa San Juan Bosco's main activities include:

  • Taking care of children from 3 to 10 years old
  • Waking the children up in the morning (between 7 and 8 a.m. depending on the day)
  • Helping the children take a shower and have breakfast
  • Helping children do their homework and to get dressed for school
  • Taking them to school

 

Volunteer tasks

  • Being with the girls
  • Helping them take showers
  • Helping them get dressed, make their beds, arrang their clothes and shoes
  • Helping them with homework
  • Playing with them
  • Being with them in the dining room

  • Have emotional maturity
  • Be prudent
  • Reliable and sincere
  • Be open
  • Have a good attitude of service
Preference: volunteers prepare cultural or recreational activities for the girls

Location

The project is located in Comitán de Domínguez, Chiapas.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live at the project with a private room and bathroom.
