Brief description and main aims

CERPI began operating in 1996, providing complementary services to formal education to children and adolescents from fiscal educational units in Sucre. It works with children and adolescents from the urban areas of Sucre and its surroundings. These children, which are aged between 4 and 16, have different social backgorunds - some have parents while other do not, some come form violent homes, some have suffered economic hardship, ect. Most of these children, due to their circumstances, are already working. 

Main Activities

CERPI works to support and motivate hard-working children and adolescents in different occupations.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer's tasks include:

  • helping the children and adolescents  develop their abilities and adeptness
  • supporting and motivating the children
  • teaching educational games in the “Escuela movil” (a small car which has a lot of didactic games).

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should:

  • be intrested in working with children and adolescents
  • have artistic skills such as painting
  • enjoy practicing and playing sports;
  • have some knowledge of educational and didactic games.

Location

The project is located in Sucre.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
