Brief description and main aims

Asociación de Arte Indígena "Inca Pallay"  aims to help indigenous women become self-financing while maintaining their traditional culture.

We work with indigenous women that live outside the city and have a desire to increase their incomes. These women make beautiful native textiles which are sent to the museum/store and sold.

Main Activities

Inca Pallay main activities include:

  • carrying out market search on behalf of their associates and creating contacts with international companies in search of new foreign markets
  • providing technical assistance and training of the associates to support new economic and production initiatives
  • promoting the products
  • doing external trade
  • creating contacts with European countries
  • guaranteeing the participation at local and international fairs

Volunteer tasks

The main tasks carried out by the volunteers are:

  • participating in local and national fairs
  • traveling to the countryside to follow the production process
  • designing the organizations web page

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should have knowledge in the fieldsof trade, computing, and communication and have good attitude in sales.

Location

The project is located in Sucre.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
