Brief description and main aims

The project aims to contribute to the positive development of orphan children and adolescents in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas and fulfill their basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothes, healthcare, and access toeducation. Its goal is also to rescue children and teenagers suffering from physical and psychological abuse and teach Christian values to the children. 

The Albergue Infantil Salesiano offers support to two different groups: indigenous women who for economic reasons have to leave their children to go to work and abandoned children. 

Main Activities

  • Generate a safe and open atmosphere where students can feel respected and loved
  • Provide psychological attention to children
  • Provide computer lessons
  • Provide different workshops for mothers and children
     

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer will help with daily activities at the house, like washing clothes and coordinate activities. The volunteer will also support the staff during the different workshops and take care of the children: play with them, listen to them and help them in their daily activities.

The project is located in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.
