A few ICYE member committees such as Austria, Iceland and Denmark offer young people from developing countries aged 19 to 25, the opportunity to attend a Vocational Training Programme on an experimental basis. The main aim of this programme is to offer possibilities of training in carpentry, agriculture, mechanics, computer programs, and ceramic.

Along similar lines, in co-operation with African ICYE Committees, ICYE Switzerland runs a professional exchange programme whereby young Swiss teachers and nurses spend a year in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria teaching in local schools and working in hospitals and clinics as voluntary staff. Special requirements are two years of practical experience and good English knowledge.
